That Falling Feeling happened when guitarist Nono Presta(ex Cyclefly) and vocalist Ross Daly decided the it was time the world heard what was emanating from their brains, and so set about recruiting a band. Presta’s past success, touring with bands such as Linkin Park and Tool and playing Oz Fest along side the likes of System Of A Down and Slayer coupled with Daly’s reputation as a world class poet and poser with unique vocal stylings meant they got the best.
Drummer Richie Wymberry and Bassist Sean Scott-Baird long time stalwarts of the Cork cover band scene formed a rhythm section that is, if I may use Duck Dunn’s line in the Blues Brothers film, “tight enough to turn goat piss into wine”. The final cog in the machine is the techno wizardry and production skills of Dave (The Rave O’ Connell).
The result is one of the tightest most focused bands on any scene. Perfectly formed grinding riffs married with soaring choruses wrapped in electronic tweak and synth moodiness form the bed for vocals that swing effortlessly from hauntingly melodic to crushingly brutal.
The release of their first, self-titled EP was well received, garnering radio play from Red FM and Phantom FM among others. And relentlessly high quality live sets have grown the local fan base considerably.
The band have just released their second EP Creeper and are playing live across the country to spread the message. You owe it to yourself to check them out.
