The Zealots / Bio

'OPEN SEASON" is AVAILABLE NOW at cdbaby.com/cd/thezealots and at thezealotsband.bandcamp.com

Currently, The Zealots are George Terry, Aaron Price, and Caleb Beissert. Many friends have contributed and are continuing to offer their craftsmanship to the new songs either in the studio or live. By late summer of 2012, a new record will be available with guests, Mike Rhodes of Blue Rags fame-drums, Pete James of The Honeycutters-guitar, Shane Pruitt-guitar, Matthew Smith-pedal steel, helping out at Collapseable Studios, along with others.

As is the case with “Feast or Famine”, Aaron Price is producing and engineering the record. His former partner, Bill Reynolds, now of Band of Horses fame, co-produced “Feast”, played bass and introduced George to Aaron. Reynolds and Rhodes, along with Matt Kinne of Menage- on guitar and bass, were the original band as constructed in Asheville in 2002. Mick Glasgow, now of Rose Familiar, was the drummer for several years as well. All of these artists and more are great friends and Zealots eternally, giving endless hours of their time to these projects.
Incredible joys can be experienced every day at Collapseable.

Previous incarnations of the Zealots in the D.C. area include John Penovich-guitar and Dave Hugel-bass of The Craven Dogs, and Joel App-drums also of Ruthie and the Wranglers.
The disc from that line-up, “Roar of the Crowd” was recorded in the 1990’s with Penovich at the helm, producing and engineering.
