A meld of Hollywood rock and Dallas pop. With Soaring vocals and catchy hooks, it's always bold, sometimes tangy, never dry.
CJ grew up in Austin but cut his teeth on the West Coast providing the sonic eloquence for bands such as Bikini Science before moving back to Texas. Soon after his return to the Lone Star State he began working with Dave Garred, of the recently defunct Error of Free Will, and the two began writing what would be the core of The 8th Digit's early songs together with several drummers before landing Adrian Barajas in late 2010.
Adrian had recently completed his own round trip from Southern California, where he spent several years building up his blast beat chops in punk and rock bands before returning to his native Dallas.his rapid playing and fills drive The 8th Digit's signature grooves and bring an element of unpredictability.
Marcus joined in mid-2011 and refined the band's sound from it's raw beginnings. Marcus has been honing his engineering skills in a variety of different applications, from sound design and dialog replacement for movies, live broadcast and audio restoration to music production sessions. Prior to Luminous Sound, he worked with clients ranging from the American Heart Association and Comedy Central, to American Airlines and Mary Kay. Now full time at Luminous, Marcus manages and engineers all of the studio clients radio and television spots as well as assisting on projects from artists like Sheryl Crow, Kirk Franklin, and Don Henley.
Kenny Poovey joined in late December-2011 and quickly filled the void as the front-man and vocalist. Kenny is a native Texan who lives in Garland and has been in many successful Dallas bands such as 62, Adakain, Innate and Slackjaw.
The 8th Digit is currently recording and will begin playing shows locally and regionally in early 2012. Look for The 8th Digit to come to a town near you!!!
