Matt Lashoff is a songwriter from East Greenbush, NY. Matt's situation is one of a kind as he is also a professional hockey player as he's played in the NHL, AHL, Sweden, Germany, Switzerland and Russia.
Matt was introduced to music at a young age when his father played in bands and taught Matt the love of the guitar. He quickly mastered the acoustic and electric guitar and was heavily influenced by the likes of Stevie Ray Vaughn, Eric Clapton, and Jimi Hendrix. Matt quickly realized that the guitar was not enough and began to dedicate himself to developing his songwriting and vocals. Throughout his teens, Matt played in various establishments around the US and Canada, giving him the exposure during his early hockey career. In 2005, Matt was drafted by the Boston Bruins in the first round of the NHL draft. Soon after, he did a music feature for NESN where Matt was noticed by a music producer who has worked with other musically gifted athletes such as Bernie Williams and Wayman Tisdale.
Matt's debut album, Living On Heart, was released in May 2011. He was fortunate to work with many of the worlds most influential musicians, such as drummer Kenny Aronoff (John Mellencamp, Jon Bon Jovi, The Rolling Stones, The Smashing Pumpkins, Bob Seger), pianist David Sancious (Bruce Springsteen, Sting), bass guitarist Lee Sklar (James Taylor, Jackson Browne, Phil Collins), country guitarist Brent Mason (George Strait, Alan Jackson, Neil Diamond), and guitarist Tim Pierce (Bruce Springsteen, Michael Jackson, Christina Aguilera).
