Elijah Divine has solidified himself as one of the most versatile, lyrically devastating and explosive MC’s on the East Coast. As a member of Threshold Sound (CT), Spaceshot Syndicate (MA/CT/HI), Dubbage (CT), Highlander Camp (CA/HI), FoundationZ (MA) as well as competing the 36 Chambers School of Emceeing competition, he has gained respect from both the EDM & Hip Hop communities, as he’s one of the most sought after artists in the music scene today.
Growing up in Worcester to parents that were passionate about music, Elijah recalls “Pops used to quiz me when when i was around 4/5 on who the doo-wop/soul artist was he was playing on the turntable. Listened to alot of soul/motown/doo-wop/rock as a kid.”, which essentially set the stage up for his own future musical journey. Like many kids growing up in the United States during this time, he found hip hop and through the legendary Wu Tang Clan & influential albums such as 36 Chambers and Cuban Linx, once again exposing him to the expansive creativity of lyricism. And on the other side of this, in the 90′s with electronic music on the rise, discovered jungle at an early age thanks to his brother Sony, “Toasted Massive Ragga Jungle Anthems” was the gateway to understanding more creative experimentation of of breakbeat culture.
Elijah Divine found an outlet in the flourishing New England Rave (Electronic Dance Music) Scene. His first event was “The Whole Truth” at the famous Asylum night club in Springfield MA with the Xecutioners, it got him hooked on the entire experience. So much that he also aquired a pair of turntables and also began djing. He and two other friends SCIV & DJ Mute started a group called Spaceshot Syndicate dedicated to the sounds of Jungle, Reggae, Hip Hop and turntablism. His first gig was “15 Minutes of Fame” at the Asylum as a dj. By the tender age of 19 he was holding down dj residencies at the Marque in Worcester MA every Wednesday & Thursday spinning jungle, dancehall reggae and hip hop.
This eventually led him to move with several friends to Kauai, Hawaii where Elijah says he “Completed the mission of selecting jungle in the jungle” as he cleverly puts it. Motivated by the atmosphere of Hawaii, he started a night called “Feel Good” on Sundays which like minds can come together in a Hawaiian style potluck with open decks. And thru the journey this led to countless events all over the island on beaches, in forests, parks with not the best soundsystem, but with the utmost love and devotion. Elijah then linked with the Highlander Camp where he started as one of their dj’s which led to occasionally freestyling, writing and performing under more frequency with this group. In the time he spent with Highlander Camp, he performed with known and respected artists such as DJ Honda, PMD, ChinoXl, Tha Liks, Zion I, Jennifer Johns, Ladybug Mecca from Digable Planets, Fiji, LA Symphony.
When he moved back to New England in 2006, he had decided to put all his focus on his love of emceeing. He linked with St. Dirty, Mizeyesis & Torrential of THRESHOLD Sound out of CT becoming a member in 2007. In 2009 he linked with Dubbage a crew in CT dedicated to the expansiveness of Bass music in CT pushing his lyrical talents even further. 2010 Elijah Divine became on of the final contestants in the 36 Chambers School of Emceeing (Formerly Next 9 Generals) contest catapulting him into the Hip Hop underground and gaining him an even greater audience for his explosive talents. In this time he has also worked with well known and respected crews and organizations such as Zulu Nation, True Productions, Bass Embassy just to name a few. He also linked with Dizzy Dizasta, Billy Gunna & Tom Brown as their Dj, never forsaking his Dj roots amongst all of this.
2011 was a big year as one of the markers for his career was set with the release of “Divine Intervention” which accumulated all his years of growing up on the many different styles of music bringing them together in an effortless stream and mix of amazing lyrics, genres and collaborations with many producers respected by many. Divine Intervention has been getting amazing reviews from both the Electronic Dance & Hip Hop communities alike as an amazing fusion of styles and genres which is what Elijah Divine is about.

Some of his future projects include: BFP Presents (various artists), “SpliffNotes” Sophomore release.
