Obol is a progressive rock band in Seattle, Washington. Started in 2006 when friends Barry Craig and Derek Butcher decided to get together and work on the songs that were deemed "too heavy", "too light", or "too weird" for Barry's previous rock projects. Adding guitarist Joey Stanker, and keyboardist "Tall Joe" Wasson, the band now has songs ranging in influence from Tool, Dead Can Dance, Placebo, Devin Townsend, and Faith No More. In 2013, the band released their first album.
