The Bio for Gary Reynolds
I was born and grew up in Texas.I moved to New Mexico in 1991 and settled in the East Mountain Range of Tijeras New Mexico. I have recently moved to Cimarron New Mexico.
I learned to play the Guitar at the age of nine years old. I am a lefty,but dad insisted I play with my right hand. It was the only way he knew how to Teach me to play. These Days I play many instruments,including rhythm and bass guitar,banjo,harmonica and drums. The artist that influenced me most John Denver,Michael Martin Murphy and Neil Young.I performed with Bruce Channel in the 70's.Bruce wrote and sang the number one hit "Hey Babe" in the 1962. He was one of my mentors. Finally,I sing and write...both lyric and music.I was selected as a finalist in the NMMA New Mexico Music Awards in 2006 for writing,singing and recording "Red River Glow".My song. "Flying High Like an Eagle"is going to be including on a compilation CD,"Son Of The Best Of New Mexico Western! "with other New Mexico artist.
I grew up in my 20's entertaining in many western Opries and bars in Texas. Since then I have entertain all over the states of Texas,Oklahoma,Colorado and New Mexico.Of all the places I've been,I love New Mexico and the New Mexico audiences the best.
The Bio for the Southwest Wind Band
The Southwest Wind Band came into being around 2007 forming around Gary Reynolds and his folk rock and country western styles.The Band form in truly organic fashion all coming from different background and musical taste.Concentrating on the 60s to the 80s the band brings many old favorites back to life including the likes of John Denver, Michael Martin Murphy, Neil Young, Hank Williams, The Eagles, Bob Dylan, George Strait and many more Southwest Wind can be heard playing around Albuquerque and surrounding Areas. there are almost too many places to mention.thanks for reading our Bio here is my and the Band websites www.garyreynolds.org
