Hopera: A Hip Hop Opera / Bio

HOPERA: A Hip Hop Opera is a new kind of music show blending hip hop and Opera into a new musical genre the world has never seen. Hailed by the Chicago Sun Times as "Hugely impressive...Superb and powerfully sung". Created in 2008 by Adrian Dunn, Hopera has appeared on NPR, ABC 7 Chicago, The Cleveland Plain Dealer, the BTAA Awards, and was nominated for the Martin Luther King Award from the Cleveland Orchestra. Hopera released its first single "When" from the debut album entitled "UNLEASHED" in June 2011. HOPERA has performed at The Chopin Theater, DuSable Museum-Harold Washington Theater, Northern Illinois University, Illinois State University, Columbia College Chicago, Nexus Café, and at The Diana Reese Performing Arts Center. Taking five powerful opera singers, two rappers, a dynamic band & one powerful story, Hopera is changing the face of music one person at a time.
