Half Past 3 is primarily a variety rock band that will provide your venue or event a full night of original and cover music. Half Past 3's eclectic mix of multiple rock genres and time periods (Classic, Southern, Modern Alternative), Country, Rockabilly, and little bit of Pop and Motown, is sure to provide something for everyone. Not to mention the band's exceptional Americana / Alternative rock originals. From Johnny Cash, Otis Redding and Radiohead to Kings of Leon and Sublime.
Originating as a three piece family band in early 2011 when Garrett Hoffman, father Gary Hoffman, and cousin Colin Hoffman having played music for most of their lives separately, joined forces in the wake of a fallout between Gary and his older brother leaving behind a booked local gig that no longer had an act.
Garrett had been writing and performing solo original acoustic rock pieces for a little over a year and Gary, who has played bass for 30+ years, had recently started writing country and bluegrass pieces as well. They put together few sets and Half Past 3 was on it's way. Colin brought a dynamic energy to the music with his drum playing but ultimately had to quit due to physical problems.
After struggling to find a long term replacement, Tedd Steele finally settled into the roll of percussionist. Stefan Jenczewski joined the band on lead guitar in late 2011 adding an edge to the music that had previously been missing. Finally, Michael Carter came on board on keys and backup vocals in early 2015, adding a brand new dynamic that is still developing, but promises to broaden the band's already eclectic range of genre and time period.
Other musical contributors of note are Alex Goldberg, Branden Hickman, Mike Breen, Bart Adams, Cody Hoffman, & Don Greggor.
Half Past 3 self produced and distributed its debut EP A Place Like This in 2013 to most major online music retailers. HP3 is currently writing and working on it's next recordings.
