Picking Up Napolean started in June 2011 through the recording of the song "I'm not a problem" with Robert Tango of 3 dog studios. Singer and guitar player Josh Vaneps wrote this song as a way to express his feelings for his sister and needed help recording it so he grabbed his friend guitarist Jonathin Jacques and began working on it. After 3 days recording the song was finished and a CD was produced. The duo enjoyed what they heard and began writing more the ended up with 7 songs but needed more instruments and more versatile musical influence so keyboardist Karlo Corona was added. The Now trio proposed the idea of recording to Josh Vaneps' uncle who invested in there project. They then went to Miami and recorded the single "brother Bear". Once released the song was well received locally and the trio decided that they wanted to play shows but needed more pieces to there group. They first added drums; Jeremy Thomas was the first auditioned and a perfect fit. Now with their new band the group began playing shows but the task of singing and playing bass began to difficult for singer Josh Vaneps they decided one more member was needed. Josh, Jon , and Kalo had recently been in the band "TornTogether" and remembered there bassist mike Nunez from that band they asked him to join and the band was finished. Now the band plays many local shows and is working on producing a full length album.
