Channeling acts as diverse as U2, Joshua Radin, Bryan Adams and John Mayer, New Jersey native Erick Rivera has arrived at a crossroads few artists reach -- music that's both compelling and accessible.
A veteran of both the New York City and South Florida music scenes, Rivera channels life experience -- regrets, relationships, moving out and moving on -- in his plaintive, yet potent, songs. Rivera's soaring arena-rock melodies and contemplative acoustic textures meet to create a sonic space that serves as the perfect counterpart to his songwriting.
"I wear my heart on my sleeve, and I think there tends to be a universal message in what I end up writing," Rivera says.
Working and gigging with talented songwriters and musicians -- including Ed Kamenitzer and Chris Barron (formerly of the Spin Doctors) -- has enhanced Rivera's gift of melody and arrangements, and given his live performance a focused energy.
