Enjoli ''Shawty E'' Freeman was born on November 15, 1989 to Debra Sullivan & Larry Freeman in Richmond, VA. She always knew she had a passion for writing when she was 14, while she was sitting in french class and wrote a poem entitled ''Me''. She let her classmates read the poem and was astonished by their feedback, it made her think. Wow, she could truly become a songwriter & it made her want to branch out to do other endeavors as far as writing songs, rapping & engineering. She started rapping at the age of 18 & she released a song called ''Haters''. She knew her delivery & flow wasn't at it's full potential but her motivation & determination wouldn't let her give up. Her ambition towards music took over everything that everybody wanted her to do, or told her she wouldn't be great, she wouldn't be a star unless she was infront of a camera. Everybody told her, her flow was monotone, mediocre, & she wouldn't go anywhere in the music industry just because she's a pretty face. They told her to just stick to modeling, because a music career for her would never happen. Her Aaliyah seductive/innocent look might lure u in, but don't get it twisted, she can also go in like Eve & have bars of destruction, which can become a deadly combination. Since then she has dropped 2 mixtapes ''Da Realiest I've Ever Been'' when she was 22, & ''Diz Who I Am at 23'' & her most recent EP at 24 ''Diz Who I Am 2' which did exceptionally well in the streets & online. She has also done showcases & been recognized for her work. She was granted a nomination for ''Best Rap Female'' in the Richcity Hip Hop Awards. She also has her first official music video on youtube called ''I Ain't Trippin' off her EP. As a female artist, she wants all the other female artists to know that our talent shouldn't be brushed to the side, because all of us have a story, all of us has a voice in this male-dominated world, & we should get recognized. She's currently working on her latest mixtape called ''I Exposed What They Left Out'', set to be released early fall/mid winter. It's basically a mixtape of her reinventing herself to the public eye & those who truly don't know Shawty E, can get a feel of her & see who she is, how far she has come & witness her growth & development as a artist.
