Elliott Sabbagh (That DJ Ell) is a classically trained violinist and vinyl turntableist DJ, who plays and produces multiple music genres including Hip-Hop, EDM, and classical. Trained from the early age of five on the strings, he credits his success as a DJ, turntablist, and artist to his many years of playing and studying violin and classical music.
Having established himself in the Midwest, Ell is seen around the country performing at concerts for artists and groups including ASAP Rocky, Big K.R.I.T, Curren$y, J. Cole, Juicy J, Logic, Maybach Music Group, Slum Village, Twista, and Wale alongside playing U.S. tours with Finally Famous, Machine Gun Kelly/ EST19XX, and Wiz Khalifa’s Taylor Gang. Ell plays a wide range of club, concerts, and festivals like Vans Warped Tour along with many benefit concerts, and entertainment events hosted by MTV and Red Bull.
In 2008, Ell was invited by DJ Chill Will, host of “The Prop Shop”, (the Midwest’s longest-running FM radio Hip-Hop show, since 1988) on WCBN-FM Ann Arbor, to join his show as his regular co-host. He considered Ell a "musical, rhythmic prodigy". While WCBN was Ell’s first radio experience, today he plays at numerous stations including Big City 101.3 Boston and WMBR Cambridge, MA. Beginning in 2011, Ell began teaching private and public DJ classes, workshops, and lectures at schools including Berklee College of Music, MIT, and the University of Michigan. DJ Ell became the youngest turntableist DJ in the U.S at 14 to co-host a Hip-Hop show on FM radio, from 2008 to the summer of 2013, when he left Michigan to earn his degree at Berklee College of Music in Boston.
