While Lydia has been singing and making up goofy little songs for as long as she can remember, she didn't actually pick up a guitar until her early 20s. Once she learned a few chords, there was no turning back. She's never happier than when she's singing and playing her jumbo acoustic Gretsch. While living in New York from 2004 to 2007, she started frequenting a bluegrass jam at The Baggott Inn and formed an indie rock/folky trio, The Railbirds, with a couple friends -- Dave Rainey and Claire Campbell. Now that she's back in Seattle, she's hitting the open mic circuit and playing as often as she can find someone to listen (and sometimes even when she can't).
