Daniel Hughes fell in love with the guitar at age 12 when he began learning to play on his grandfather's old Galaxy acoustic. Over the years, he has experimented in several varying genres of music including thrash metal, southern rock, and funk. Today, however, Daniel Hughes is an acoustic singer/songwriter with a taste for experimentation with genres.
When he started his college career at Jacksonville State University, he also began singing. Soon afterwards, he began his current musical journey on February 5, 2011 at Brother's Bar in Jacksonville, AL. He quickly became part of the local music scene, and within a year, he played over 100 shows and recorded his first 8-track EP, titled "Walk the Horizon."
Continuing to experiment with new styles and genres, Daniel makes a point not to write the same song over and over. Instead, he attempts to make all of his songs unique and memorable.
He can be seen frequently performing in the various venues of Calhoun County, and he plans to expand his horizons by seeking out new and exciting venues. After he completes his degree at JSU, he plans to move to Nashville or possibly another musical city to follow his dreams as a singer/songwriter.
