"No one can make you feel inferior without your consent." With these words by Eleanor Roosevelt, Gabby Mooney was able to shamelessly share her music with anyone who would listen. Gabby grew up in the rural town of Natural Dam, Arkansas in a conservative home. Since her parents were involved in a southern gospel band, music surrounded her at a young age. By the age of 3, Gabby started mimicking her mothers piano skills. By age 6, she, her older sister Erica, and her younger brother Shay began to sing together in church. This three part harmony then led to the siblings competing in local talent shows. Gabby developed a passion for music, and at age 12 she wrote her first song. After her first breakup at age 19, songwriting became an outlet that consumed her life. After several years of college pursuing a degree in Nutrition, Gabby realized that a career in music was her true passion. Recently, she won a national songwriting award in 2011, and has caught the attention of several well known songwriters. Gabby also takes pride in her dance skills, and loves incorporating her moves into her shows. Gabby plans on continuing to write and create the pretty music that she loves.
