Zachary Green (b.1993) hails from Madison, WI, and currently studies at The Juilliard School under Christopher Rouse. His compositions have been commissioned by The Seasons Music Festival and The Phoenix Concerts, and have garnered performances by organizations including The Lotte Lehmann Foundation. Zachary has participated in the Oberlin College Composition Workshop (2010), the Seasons Music Festival in Yakima, WA (2009, 2010), the New York Summer Music Festival (2008), and the San Francisco Conservatory of Music Summer Music West Composition Intensive (2007). He has received instruction from composers Alexis Alrich, Chris Brubeck, Josh Levine, Gilda Lyons, Lewis Nielson, Catherine McMichael, Daniel Ott, Stephen Dembski, Larry Alan Smith, and Daron Hagen. In 2008, Zachary won the Wisconsin School Music Association's Composition Project in his first year of eligibility for the prize with his composition, "Suite of the San Francisco Municipal Transit Agency." He has also been a finalist for the ASCAP Morton Gould Young Composers Award and received Honorable Mention for the NFAA YoungArts Competition. Zachary also frequently writes for The Juilliard Journal.
