Doreen Pinkerton is a contemporary praise and worship vocal artist with dexterity in the flute, piano, and guitar and an eclectic style that delivers encouraging music in her debut album, "Show Me the Way," and released her second album, "Free Indeed" on May 1, 2012, with 11 songs! She returned to Tate- Oct 20 , 2012 for CD 3 songs, now completed, for her 3rd album called "Let Your Mercy Reign" to be released this summer, with fourteen songs. She completed writing and arranging all of her songs, and worked on 8 of songs as a team with Producer Houston Green, and 6 of the songs locally with Producer Brian Lowe, of Brian Lowe Productions, and she has completed 6 new songs, using his exquisite and talented production.
Doreen is writing songs now, and has now co-produced her third album and now she is writing songs for people, based on their requests of topics. She has 15 songs completed for album four, and also an album of 10 songs ready to record for children and families called "Thy WOrd is Truth" which is scripture arranged to music, especially for children to learn. Doreen also plays keys, piano, flue, and some basic acoustic, and can sing them for you, and harmonize on the spot.
She is a graduate of Oral Roberts University, BSN, and a recent graduate of Piedmont International University, BCMin, minors in church education & leadership, and currently is in the Masters Program at Foothills Christian College, seminary program for Visionary Leadership. She is an RN, and volunteers her time at Foothills Free Medical Clinic. Doreen is "Reaching Out", because she says whenever a person in ministry or a leader asks her to sing or help with or lead worship teams, she feels the Lord wants her to say yes! She loves to do concerts and solo work as well, wherever she is asked, currently both in New York and North Carolina, and she hopes to travel more.
She helps with many fundraisers and lcommunity events loves to do medical missions with her husband, Dr. Joe (Jerry) Pinkerton. She serves as music director for Sure Cord Christian Counseling and serves on their board.
Doreen is a mother of four, has been a home school mom for 18 years, and continues to tutor home school children, and teaches music day for these kids, each week, including songwriting, choir, praise band/ensemble work, and videogrpahy. As far as her own children she now has two home schooled children graduated, one in med school at UNC Chapel Hill, one at Wilkes Community College, and a third child playing soccer in middle school, one in private Christian school for Arts and Bible.
Doreen has worked with youth praise bands for 9 years, prior to this singing in her church band, and playing keys or acoustic or flute as needed, and was a vocal soloist all her life, especially for weddings and special events. She grew up playing with her sister, and family, singing and playing guitars, and helping serve as worship leader at Highland Lake Bible Camps. She enjoys writing music, leading worship, and spending time with children, teens, college age, and with women's ministry, and well as singing and playing for the Lord, anywhere, and anytime, and for anyone!
She has taught music lessons for many years, and hosted her first songwriting and praise and worship class last season, as well as lead a home school youth choir, grade k-12, using Prestonwood choir materials. This year she will use some of her own songs for the kids to sing! She is proud to work with her talented friend and Bible school student the last season- Ryan Flake. She taught swimming and ran a swim program for both the Town of Babylon and the YMCA of Bayshore, Long Island for many years during her single years as well. "God is good all the time, yes He is!"
