The Jon Duncanson Band / Bio

Jon Duncanson has a romantic and very approachable folk influence to his voice and he combines the musical influence of 60's and 70's acts like Credence Clearwater Revival and James Taylor with the lyrical styling of more modern artists like Jewel and Aaron Lewis of Staind. Growing up, listening to 90's rock acts like Pearl Jam, Tool and Staind, Jon grew deeply enamored with an appreciation for music. After years of watching his friends play in bands around the DFW music scene Jon decided, "Hey, if they can do it, so can I". Most guys pick up the guitar to get the girl but Jon already had the girl. Inspired by the love he has for his wife, Jon started writing songs only three months into his musical journey and it was from these songs that he found the confidence to become the singer/songwriter he is today. In the middle of 2012 Jon Duncanson invited some friends to play with him and is joined by the likes of Justin Smith on bass, Zach Wellendorf on Lead Guitar and Bryan Williams on percussion. Between the beatifully articulated lead riffs of Zach, and the grooving bass layed by Justin it has truly proved and incredible enhancement to both the live show and recorded music. One of the uncommon things you can see at a live show is Bryan Williams laying the beats with his bare hands on the djembe! Whether you are listening at home or in the car to their music, or enjoying the pleasures of their live show you will not be dissappointed. The Jon Duncanson Band can be seen performing throughout the D/FW area. Currently The Jon Duncanson Band is hard at work in the studio arranging the songs that will make up his first full length album due out early in 2013.
