Homegrown out of the backwoods of Los Angeles, Blackwood Harvest is a slice of country, folk, pop, & rock. The group has crafted a unique style with classic appeal, similar to the likes of Van Morrison, The Avett Brothers, Wilco and My Morning Jacket. With their first full length, Feels Like Home (2012)*, behind them, Blackwood Harvst has a new batch of fresh songs and an EP on its way in 2013. Keep your eyes peeled for Blackwood Harvest this winter, as this four piece has big things on the horizon!
*Feels Like Home, is an experimental folk album. It’s centered around a narrative that songwriter, Chris Schellenbach, describes as the feeling you get growing up in a small town. Layered with nostalgic melodies, imagery, and lyrics, Chris reflects that he’s, “Always trying to return to the basics, and I feel like that’s what this album is about, a return to elemental things.”
