Jahson and the Natty Vibez are a group of musicians who come from many musical backgrounds, united by their common love and respect for reggae music. The founder and frontman of the band, Jahson Wildes, has been a professional reggae musician since 1997 as a guitarist and backing vocalist for the groups Reggae Infinity and Zion Ites. In Summer 2002 with the release of a five song Ep entitled "No Water Wasted" Jahson made his first steps in his vision to start his solo musical ambitions. Still it would not be until August of 2007 that he started his solo career with the release of the Lp entitled, "Rootsman Rebel" at Strawberry Skies recording studio in Columbia, SC. Since that time Jahson has released two more Lps, 2011s' "Here I Come Again and "Reggae Gathering" in March 2015. His reggae album releases have gotten strong support from the Carolina reggae scene and strong support on a grassroots level!
After the release of Jahsons' follow up album, 'Here I Come Again' in April 2011, he united with some well seasoned musicians from his region, who were also a part of the album project, and they formed the Natty Vibez Band. What resulted was a serious chemistry from the start! Jahsons original reggae sound has been described as "traditional roots reggae with a new school attitude" which highlights the bands modern roots sound . Jahson and the Natty Vibez perform clubs and festivals almost year around in their region of the US and Jahson has also performed in the reggae heartland, Kingston, Jamaica! Fall of 2013 saw the return of Jahson to the studio to begin work on his third Lp, "Reggae Gathering". The album was tracked and mastered at the Jam Room recording studio in Columbia, SC by Zac Thomas and Jay Matheson. The album was mixed at Tuff Gong Intl. recording studio in Kingston, Jamaica by veteran reggae engineer, Gary Sutherland. "Reggae Gathering" consist of conscious and upbeat modern roots reggae songs and contains memorable collaborations with some of the biggest names in reggae today!
Jahsons music is played and known around the reggae world and his name has been synonymous with reggae and Rasta culture in the Carolinas for over two decades! The bands reputation in the Carolinas has grown steadily since the bands inception and continues to grow thanks to steady performing at clubs and festivals in the southeast, US. Also, the steady interest in reggae in recent years has helped to ensure that the genres musical flames are burning bright well into the future and the bands musical vision stays alive and well. By performing the popular original tracks off of Jahsons' three album releases, as well as, a dash of classic and modern reggae covers Jahson and the Natty Vibez feel confident they can take it to the next level!
