Tripping With Placebos (or TWP for short) was a retro-tinged, indie rock group consisting of Tim Hill (bass, vocals), Erik Connolly (lead guitar), Mike Voelk (rhythm guitar) and Matt Wofford (drums, vocals). The group performed original music with elements of classic rock, blues, pop, and funk.
TWP originally began as a part time cover band called The Weekend Project (TWP for short) in 2008. Over the ensuing months founding members Tim Hill, Steve Garrett, Brian Coleman, and Bill Bolin also began incorporating original music into the sets as well as guest musicians. In 2012, following the release of Tim's debut original music CD, founding members Bill, Brian, and Steve expressed their desire to focus on just classic rock covers and a very limited performance schedule. The original lineup performed one final show in June 2012, after which Tim began the process of forming a new lineup to continue the band with a focus on original music. After some transitional incarnations, a definitive lineup (now named Tripping With Placebos) was established in January 2013. The new lineup began to incorporate more funk and blues influences into the music creating music with a strong connection to 60's and 70's classic rock. In late 2013 Matt Wofford joined the group on drums and vocals, adding even more funk and blues flavor to the mix.
In September 2014, TWP disbanded due to the relocation of founder and lead vocalist, Tim Hill, to the Los Angeles, California area. Tim is looking to form a new lineup with a slightly different musical direction in 2015.
