Breathy melodic vocals laced with pure guitar layers touch your ears. Eldridge's style provides a fresh sound of alternative modern rock. His original lyrics are mature, honest, and deep, exploring themes of relationships, soul-searching, hopelessness, love, and spirituality.
Matthew's strong performance and songwriting abilities have put him on stage with a number of nationally recorded platinum and gold selling artists and bands. His song “Never Be the Same” was selected to be on a benefit CD alongside artists such as Peter Frampton, 7Mary3, and Chris Barron of the Spin Doctors. Matthew also appeared as a featured street guitarist in season two of the TV hit series, The Vampire Diaries. He also appeared playing guitar next to Ryan Reynolds for the major motion picture, The Change Up, and again playing guitar in a scene with Chris Rock and Thomas Lennon for the movie, What to Expect When You're Expecting.
Eldridge is leaning towards more alternative sounds on his album, Wide Awake, which released December of 2012. Matthew's sound is a combustion of power and art. If 30 Seconds to Mars, U2, Foo Fighters, Lifehouse, Counting Crows, and Breaking Benjamin were to all have a baby together, it would sound something like the new album. Matthew's live shows are a masterpiece of punch and power, as Matthew is aided by some of the best musicians in the Atlanta area.
For those that haven't heard, Wide Awake is available as a limited edition run, and will be the last rock album from Eldridge. Get your copy today.
