The Southbound Band is a progressive team of musicians all from Monroe County, in rural southeastern Tennessee. We are dedicated to the preservation of the real heart of country music.
We also feel honored with the task of continuing the true spirit of classic and contemporary Outlaw music with southern class. “Songs with substance... abuse” and “An Intoxicated Heartache” Are some descriptors used by one local radio personality when asked about our songs. We are committed to working as a team toward our goals
in the music business.
The Southbound Band is currently writing and recording material for a new album, and is playing local clubs as well as outdoor festivals. We have recently opened shows for Nationally known acts such as Heidi Newfield of Trick Pony fame, and Trent Tomlinson at Cotton Eyed Joe's in Knoxville Tn. We have opened for Luke Bryan at the Tn. Valley Fair in Knoxville in September 2009, for The Kentucky Headhunters in
October 2009, and Gretchen Wilson in Dec. 2009.
Our music has received airplay on many east Tn. Radio stations including 107.7 WIVK. We are also currently in production of a full length outdoor concert video, and are looking forward to all of the new opportunities this coming year.
The Southbound Band is made up of a diverse group of seasoned musicians. All members have played in many different groups over the years and are pleased to have found a group where all are equally committed to a high level professionalism. We believe in providing a fun upbeat party atmosphere, With people getting
their money's worth, But we understand that music is a business and pride ourselves on honest and sober decision making. One of our songs states “I'm just doing what I do” And that is where we are at this point. We are musicians who are passionate about our music so therefore we are the music in a sense, We are Southbound and we are ready. We make no apologies for being who we are.
