Like a misty vapor that mysteriously forms and hangs over clear, still water in the morning, the lyrics of Hannah Fair’s music linger hauntingly in the mind while the sounds hover as gently in the air as a warm sea breeze long after the song is finished. Her music takes you to a new level of the experiences of youth—first love and first kiss, aching passion, heartache, and the need to leave the recognition of the familiar and experience new places and people. The music of this acoustic singer/songwriter is unpolished yet fresh, raw, earthy, and organic, shifting and changing as nature itself, prompting one blogger to write that “The songs are delivered with a confident, relaxed style that often gives them an immediacy that feels like she’s writing the lyrics as she is singing them.”
Hannah will bring you into the New England world she lives in, from the rolling hills and railroad tracks along the Blue Trail in Connecticut in “Fit Me”, to life on the water and the Rhode Island coastline in “Dave”, to the deep woods, lakes, and cold winters of Maine in her latest video, “Lonesome for You.” The music of her first released EP will bring you from a secure and worry-free “Smooth Sailing” to the potential threatened heartbreak of “Ruined.” Eric Lichter, the Dirt Floor Studios EP producer, upon first hearing Hannah said, “At the age of 16 this girl's songs and musicianship astonish me...” Beyond the six pieces on the EP, you can partake of her two new videos on YouTube. You can patiently wait for three new videos that will soon be coming out in a project she is currently working on in Boston.
Hannah Fair’s concerts at the Buttonwood, Black Sheep Ranch, the Funky Monkey, and at the Grand Opening of Elm City Market in New Haven were well received and more are planned. It is always an adventure and discovery listening to Hannah. Christopher Bjorklund, one who became enchanted with her music early wrote, “I caught a few fleeting minutes of you Wednesday evening at Robert Treat Farm Market and it was beautiful... hardly the venue I'd expect to find such a warm, lush voice and gentle musical splendor, but that's how life is sometimes... it surprises us when we least expect it.." This summer Hannah plans to be touring New England at a variety of different venues.
