Tim Wilsbach has been writing, recording and performing for over ten years. First with his heavily pop leaning alt-country band Paging Raymond releasing two independent CDs, then after PR split, he releasing a third with his rock band Peal. Both bands relentlessly toured the middle of the country and enjoyed some college-radio airplay. Peal got a larger amount of exposure and recognition as a Paste Magazine Recommends selection and had a track included on a large, nationally distributed AAA-radio organization's retail compilation-CD.
The newest batch of songs Tim is auditioning for me today is a departure from both bands' sound but are still inherently identifiable as his. Paging Raymond, Peal and this newest iteration of Tim's body of work are born from that well-worn acoustic guitar and a clever lyric. Whether the song that eventually emerges remains simple, like an acoustic and a vocal or ventures miles beyond that formula with sequenced drum loops, keys and layered electric guitars one thing is clear; like that well-worn acoustic guitar Tim Wilsbach has been around for awhile, quietly developing his songwriting craft.
