On May 12, 2001, Erick Bieger played a show for a hometown crowd in Fullerton, California and retired at the young age of 28. For ten years, Erick had performed all over the world, most notably as the singer and guitarist for god complex, a modern rock band that was too ahead of its time. Now, tired of the music scene and jumping through corporate hoops, Erick called it a day.
Ten years later, Erick is returning with more energy and creativity than ever before. When asked, "Why now?", Erick had this to say: "It's all on my terms now. I've got a great career, a beautiful wife and three kids who support everything that I do. There are no more record labels to please - I can play now simply because I love it."
And you can tell.
"Beautiful Distraction" is the soaring first single off Erick's new album entitled Anything/Everything (A Melancholic Tale of the Mourning After) If it's any indication of the quality of work to come, all we can say is, "We're glad you're back."
