Honesty, passion, and that word that always escapes your tongue but it’s how you describe something that “just feels good” are what you hear, see, and feel when you’re listening to Luke Dunkin. Luke is a singer/songwriter from Lawrenceburg, TN, so you’ll hear a little bit of Nashville in his songs. You’ll also hear equally as much Austin and Muscle Shoals. Some of the pain and heartache you hear in Luke’s music comes from him saturating himself in the music of guys like Steve Earle and Jason Isbell. The soul and passion bears the influential marks of The Allman Brothers Band and The Black Crowes. Luke’s story and the songs that come out of it are completely authentic, but the weight of these influences is felt in the music and in the story’s delivery. More than anything else you’ll hear the truth when you hear Luke. You’ll hear songs about what moves people. The truth is often the hardest thing to say but the one thing that’ll set you free. What do you do with the truth? You believe it. Luke believes it. He believes in every word he writes and every note he plays. If you’re interested in hearing and seeing someone blows the doors off, break your heart, and bring you to your knees with the truth and an unmatched passion for telling it in a song, catch a Luke Dunkin show. You won’t be disappointed. Currently, Luke is playing throughout Tennessee and Alabama and wrapping up an album to be released in early spring 2013. Luke has enlisted Gary Nichols, an extremely talented singer/songwriter/producer in his own right, to produce this forthcoming release. The Nutt House in Muscle Shoals, AL, was used to capture the sounds you’ll hear. If you can’t catch Luke on the road, catch him on the Web at Facebook.com/Lukedunkinband or on Twitter (@lukedunkinmusic). Also, iTunes will be carrying Luke’s upcoming release, so if you have two ears and a computer, buy it! See you soon!
