Within the first week of their debut album release in April 2011, “I Wanna Be In A Band,” Lovestruck Robot beat out more than 300 bands and won the Florida Grammy Showcase the opening night of the 2011 Florida Music Festival & Conference. The band received positive feedback from program directors, distribution contacts, music industry experts, and the general public. Since then, this Orlando based band’s following has grown in both physical and online presence and continues to have a solid following.
Some industry personnel have described the band’s sound as a collaboration of Maroon 5, Justin Timberlake, and Lenny Kravitz. Lovestruck Robot shot a music video for the title track, “I Wanna Be In a Band.” The video is a tongue-in-cheek description of the stereotype musicians often have and how they are treated before and after “making it big.” Singer/Songwriter and front man, Jace Magee, has toured the U.S. as the opening act for Hall & Oates and is from Moore, Oklahoma. In 2002 he moved to Orlando to pursue his musical dreams.
In February 2012 the band was featured as “Band of the Month” on Jango Airplay and in April performed and interviewed on air at WPRK 91.5 for the “Local Heroes” show. As of May 9th, the Lovestruck Robot single “Do It All for the Dream” has been featured on Sirius XM “Top 20 on 20″ in regular rotation attaining top ten status on multiple occasions and over 500 spins. The exposure has resulted in more downloads in the band’s music and an increase in the fan base. Lovestruck Robot appeared on Tampa’s WTSP-TV “Studio 10” Morning Show as musical guests, performing “Do It All for the Dream” and “Sunday With You” live, immediately receiving tremendous feedback from viewers.
In March 2013 Lovestruck Robot was honored to perform at the Florida Music Festival located in downtown Orlando in front of industry leaders and fans alike. The band is currently recording new music and just released their new single, “Random Hi5s” on iTunes in July 2013.
