Her ability to relate and move people with her voice is just the tip of the iceberg. She has been blessed by the most high with the gift of writing arranging, composing and teaching music. Her music is strong, bold and can paint a vivid picture of her human side. Kima’s humility allows her to understand that her gift is not her own, but meant to be shared with the world. At an early age, Kima was classically trained, by some of the best in the DC area, Kima has shared the stage with Richard Smallwood, Kim Burrell, recording and writing with Roy Ayers, sharing a mic with India Arie, performing the first song she ever wrote before Stevie Wonder and even giving her all on the mic before Jill Scott and Eric Roberson, and has shared the stage artist such as Amel Larrieux, V. Rich, En Vogue, Liz Wright, Richard Smallwood and Kim Burrell, being blessed to have those opportunities, has changed not her. She has performed solo and as a supporting vocalist in great venues such as The Birchmere, Kennedy Center, Club Liv, Bohemian Cavern, Sound of Brazil (SOBs) the Sugar Bar owned by Ashford and Simpson in New York City and was the 2011 Winner of the B. Smith B. Discovered Singing Competition. Her first single will be release June 2011 and KimA’s debut album is in the works and will be coming soon.
