The product of a small town family and southern upbringing, Robert Darte Ahlbrandt was born on June 23, 1988 in Winter Haven, FL.
He grew up in the small town of Wauchula, FL living a normal life.
"Dad played Elvis and Mom played Michael W. Smith - I was always singing, dancing, and entertaining anyone and everyone around me", says Ahlbrandt.
He taught him self to play guitar and drums at the young age of 15 and it was then that his passion for music really started to turn into something more than just a hobby. A week after graduating high school, through a simple Xray they found that he had a tumor in his back. After some testing it was said that if they didn't operate he would be paralyzed from the waist down. After a 6 hour surgery in Miami, FL Ahlbrandt returned to his home in Wauchula, FL with a metal rod in his back and a lot of healing to do. "It took me about a year to get back in the swing of things. I had to lay in bed pretty much non stop for a good 5 months. It was tough but I'm so thankful for it because it was in that time that I really honed my skills as a song writer. I had a lot to say. I was bullied a lot in school, I had been through my share of heart ache, I had recently taken up Christianity. There was a lot on my mind. Lots of emotions, good and bad. So I had my mother hand me my guitar and a note pad and I started writing. I must have wrote 100 songs in those few short months!" Ahlbrandt laughs remembering the good in those hard times. Through the good and bad, Darte's trials seem to have catapulted him into the singer/songwriter he is today. Now at 25 years of age he is working his way to a Publishing deal playing shows and writing songs every chance he gets. "I look at life with a smile and appreciation. My goals are to reach people with my songs. I want to making a lasting impression with everyone I meet. I want my lyrics to hit people in the heart and my live shows to be unforgettable. Only God knows what the future holds. My faith is what has brought me this far and I believe it's that same faith that will take me above and beyond my wildest dreams. The future is bright. The world is beautiful and my story has just began." Robert Darte Ahlbrandt II
