LOCK SEVENTEEN, founded in 2010 by Rusty Wigham, is a dynamic, impassioned hard rock quintet hailing from the scorched arteries of the Oklahoma City metro area. Influenced by various artists such as Slipknot, Breaking Benjamin, Saliva, and Motley Crue, the group is a hard driving force to be reckoned with and features consummate, professional musicianship backed by unparalleled determination that is often lacking in today’s up-and-coming bands.
The band, while being relatively new, has opened for many noble national acts during its young yet intense existence including: SALIVA, TAPROOT, SHADOWS FALL, GOD FORBID, FASTER PUSSYCAT, TEXAS HIPPIE COALITION, RIOTGOD and ANVIL.
LOCK SEVENTTEN is:
Dewayne Clifton – Vocals (Waiting for Decay, Soulsik, Severed)
Rusty Wigham – Guitar (Seeking Asylum)
Zack Severo – Bass (Blind Justice, Eight Day, Bleeding Wisdom)
Jerry Gulley – Drums (Awaken the Enemy, Proof Theory, Purgatory State)
Brian Carrigan – Guitar (Awaken the Enemy, From Worn to Man, Nahurak)
The group has self-released their debut EP, entitled Release the Monster, which features the mixing prowess of Eric Greedy who has previously worked with heavyweights such as Van Halen, Rage Against the Machine, Skid Row, Ozzy Osbourne, Smashing Pumpkins and Hurt.
Since the release of the EP, five songs from the offering have seen airplay on multiple radio stations across the nation including:
Rock 100.5 The KATT in OKC, Ok.
Q103.3 SNMM @ KTMO in Temecula, Ca.
KBZS-FM 106.3 The Buzz in Wichita Falls, Tx.
LOCK SEVENTEEN has also been endorsed by MUTANT MICS and received sponsorship by DIRTBAG CLOTHING which is one of rock and roll’s top clothing companies.
