ICARUS is the current release from Jac Dalton. The Renegade Southern Gentleman from Downunder has distilled a blend of melodic and classic rock that pays homage to his adopted homeland while forging an international identity. The 7 piece Jac Dalton band comprising some amazing Aussie talent that have just raised the bar for contemporary Oz rock is now touring.
From the soaring vocals and guitars and uplifting message of the title track Icarus to the anthemic State Of Rock, the groove laden riffs of Waterline and the bone-crunching Suck, Bang, Blow (co-written with ‘Rose Tattoo’s’ Rob Riley), ICARUS offers up a sound and performance that will resonate across borders and generations.
This album has been produced by Grammy Award Winner Gregg Brown (USA) and Darren Mullan (Australia) at the world famous Ardent Studios in Memphis, Tennessee. Multi Grammy Award winning engineer John Hampton, an Ardent stalwart, took a personal interest in the album and came on board as engineer. It is more than one opinion that this album is going to shake things up on both sides of the equator.
DID YOU KNOW - Jac Dalton is Executive CEO of his Charity, LandAid?
Jac, Graham and Donna have been working together with the Jac Dalton sound since 2009. The 2012 additions of Annemieke, Jim, Troy and Jason to fill in the rest was all part of the preconceived plan discussed two years previous. Having performed and/or recorded together through several cross-over instrumental, progressive and rock music projects over the past 2 decades, the kinship, musicianship and chemistry between the members was already naturally focussed. There was never any question that this lineup would be the Melodic Rock band, JAC DALTON.
JAC DALTON - THE BAND
JAC DALTON "Dalton’s voice has something reminiscent of a younger David Coverdale – rich honey and whiskey seeping through velvet wrapped charcoal" - Shane Pinnegar/The Rockpit.
Wearing the 5 elements of voice, power, charisma, charm and appeal like a loaded gun, the renegade southern gentleman, Jac Dalton is a true front man and band leader in every sense of the word. More about Jac on the website.
GRAHAM GREENE A professional musician for 30 years, Graham Greene is a leading Australian exponent of electric rock guitar. A master performer and craftsman, he has received accolades from Australian Guitar Magazine, who have quoted Graham Greene to be Australia's answer to Steve Vai and Joe Satriani, through to Hollywood where he was the recipient of the 2008 Star Music Award for Best Instrumental Rock Artist for his song "Impressive Hair", (announced by DIO guitarist, Craig Goldy) and is the first Australian to be featured on the US Mesa/Boogie website (2007), and included in the international Mesa/Boogie catalogue for 2010/12. www.grahamgreene.com.au
ANNEMIEKE, guitarist and songwriter, was born in Holland and spent some time in the United States before moving to Australia in 1984. Annemieke has been performing live and recording for more than 20 years. Considered a pioneer for female guitarists in Perth, she is highly accomplished and held in very high regard by her peers and fans alike. Prior to joining long-time friend Graham Greene in the Jac Dalton Band, Annemieke and Graham played together in Graham Greene & The Happy Sinners, their musical chemistry providing huge impetus to the Jac Dalton venture. Annemieke has been recognised with an endorsement deal from Mesa Boogie Amplifiers. www.annemieke.com.au
DONNA G is a singer/songwriter/performer in her own right. Her powerful, musical and seemingly limitless vocals along with her command of the stage in front of any audience in any environment, whether as a front person or backing vocalist, make her a huge asset to the Jac Dalton band. Donna is an internationally recognized singer, having toured across Australia as well as overseas to India, Hong Kong, Singapore & Vietnam, where she has performed to rave reviews.
TROY BRAZIER has a depth of experience and professionalism that belie his years on the planet. He has played styles ranging from pop to metal, and is another alumni of Graham Greene's bands. A musical and technically amazing drummer, Troy lays down a solid foundation for the Jac Dalton sound - tight and tidy when required, shining when needed. His enthusiasm and love for his craft is evident with every note he extracts from his drum kit.
JIM AWRAM is a bass virtuoso. An in-demand session player and teacher, Jim appears with Graham and Donna in all of their projects (Lady Zeppelin, Resonance Project, Graham Greene Band), and was an obvious choice when the Jac Dalton Band was put together. His command of his instrument and innate feel for the music make him the perfect partner for Troy Brazier in the rhythm section and an invaluable band member, laying down the groove upon which all else is based.
JASON DOHRMANN's keyboards add the finishing touches to the Jac Dalton sound, complimenting the twin-guitar attack of Graham and Annemieke with style and ease. His sounds and abilities stand out on songs like Icarus and Good To Go, and when he rocks with the guitar section, the result is a massive yet transparent wall of rock and roll. His knack for playing and singing the right thing at the right time is an integral part of the Dalton sound and stage show.
Many have recognized that JAC DALTON is a band who seem to have been playing together for thirty years and still love what they do! This is the edge to the Jac Dalton band's sound and performance. "JAC DALTON" is locked and loaded!
