Dave Hillebrandt is a singer, song-writer and guitar-player in the Orlando, Fl. area who has been playing in classic rock and blues bands for over 25 years. His influences range from New Orleans blues to 1960s rock with a little reggae and soul thrown in for good measure. He has played in several local bands and been enjoyed by thousands at night clubs, conventions, and many private functions. Hillebrandt is a native Floridian, born in Ft. Lauderdale and moving to the Orlando area in the mid 1960s where he has spent most of his musical career.
In the last few years, Dave has been doing more solo and duo work, playing in restaurants and clubs in the local area as well as for private parties, weddings, and company gatherings. Although he primarily sticks to engagements in the Central Florida area, he has been asked to play at a small music festival near Paris a few times over the last few years and has played for other functions throughout the rest of Europe as well. Dave has also played for many fund-raising benefits for worthy non-profit organizations and enjoys giving back to the community whenever possible by sharing his music in a host of ways.
Although Hillebrandt has mainly played other people's music when performing and has been asked to record guitar and vocal tracks for other performer's projects, in the last couple of years he has begun writing and recording music in a variety of styles at his home studio. He has an all-original CD expected in the winter of 2013 and more to come. Dave's originals range from blues to reggae with lots of world music influences creating a very warm approachable style. In almost all of his originals you will hear a touch of blues, a taste of jazz, along with the roots of rock... and a bit of humor too. "There is something in every musical style that I like, but I find the most pleasure when I can mix a couple of flavors together to create my own musical brew."
His guitar playing will pull you in and you never know what's coming next. Dave's guitar influences vary widely from the delta blues of Muddy Waters and B.B. King to the spicy rock licks of Santana, Frank Zappa, David Gilmore, and most everything in between. "I like it all and I like to play it all and am constantly discovering new ways to approach it."
Come see him where you live, but if he's not playing in your area, check out the recordings. You are bound to find somethere in there you'll enjoy; maybe everything with a little luck. Thanks for listening
