Born in Chicago, Illinois, August 6, 1954. Moved to Michigan and has remained there ever since. Started playing guitar in 1967 and began writing songs in the 70s. A private person, did not share song until 1990, when friends requested Outlaw to perform publicly. Not wishing to play other artists songs Outlaw copyrighted approximately 50 of his songs, in July 1990, and then began to perform them publicly. A True Value Country Showdown contest spurred public outcries, asking Outlaw to perform publicly and eventually caused Outlaw to create Outlaw's website on, at Myspace.com/musicbymarklewis. As Outlaw's popularity grew his fans motived Outlaw to write more songs, compiling over 50 more songs, and Outlaw currently has 6 albums with approximately 115 songs available to the public. While Outlaw normally allows downloading MP3 versions of his songs the necessity for sales also grew, as a means to broaden availability, allowing Outlaw greater ability to share his songs.
