As a youngster I "Cut my teeth" in the Hartford, Ct area with the cover band Stratuzfear back in the early 90's. The Nutmegger daze I like to refer to that time of my life.
Than Swirling Ginger showed me what local success feels like in Hartford, CT. We were voted Best New Rock Band in the Hartford Advocate readers poll 1996. We placed in the top 20 in the country at the Ticketmaster Mucis Showcase It was a search for America's best unsigned modern rock band! We F'n rock it so hard!!
I moved to NYC with 50 Feet Tall and learned all about the city's indie underground. 50 was Emo before anyone knew what to call it. We rocked out with our sock out! 50 Ft. released a 7" vinyl record on Deep Elm Records, before I was in the band, but I told all my friends I was in a "signed" band!!
I than played bass with Little Jinn in Manhattan and we even landed a song on season 3 of Dawson's Creek back in 1999. You can watch the clip in this here video section...that's me on the bass!
Between NYC and ME I played with the LeafJumpers traveling all around the north Atlantic region doing the jam band Dead Phish thang for a short while.
Than I moved to Maine and played the blues with Mark "Guitar" Miller. He showed me everything I know about the blues. Lots of bar room gigs, payin my dues playin the blues.
Matt Newberg than took me along for the ride to Nashville on another tale of record deal gone sour. But man, aint that a great town. We than reconfigured as Maybe Utah and made some nice music together.
The Mutineers currently keep me grounded with country/folk/bluegrassy type of music. The 3rd album "Drover's Bones" is done and sounds fantastic.
I have been seen playing bass for Aaron Lee Marshall one of Maine's top selling artist's in 2010. That's me on the 2010 release, "Take It and Like It." I am playing bass on the track for the Iraq War Song video, seen here on this page. As of 11/2014 the video has over 175,000 views. I am on the forth coming ALM album along side Dave Gutter and Zach Jones which should be done by spring 2013
But meanwhile, back at the ranch,
My little brotha from anotha motha Chad Porter and I play the weekends away at every little dive bar in the greater L/A area nowadays. I currently play a 2014 G&L L-2000 through Genz Benz amplification paired with Aguilar speakers. Ibanez acoustic electric guitar and did I mention I bust out the Ukulele when appropriate? And who am I kidding, I'm still learning to play. Never stop learning.
Thanks for reading this far!
