It wasn’t until Sergio moved to Nashville that he was inaugurated into the country music scene. In late summer of 2005, Hurricane Katrina displaced many musicians, Sergio being one. That experience led him to Music City where he would continue to pursue his musical ambition…making his mark as a professional drummer.
In the spring of 2006, after about 3 months of living in Nashville, he was given the opportunity to perform a song at a local club which led to an opening act for Big and Rich. After performing with James Otto and Shanna Crooks, he began playing with other artists in Muzik Mafia: Big & Rich, Gretchen Wilson, Shannon Lawson and Jon Nickelson.
Sergio became a member of Jamie O’Neal’s band, a four time Grammy nominated country artist, in 2007 and performed with her for over for two years while continuing to do studio gigs and being heavily involved in co-writing with several local artist.
In the fall of 2009, he joined Collin Raye, a 16 number one hit artist with 23 of 25 released songs reaching the top 10.
His most recent accomplishment began in the summer of 2010 playing with Country singer Sunny Sweeney. The lead-off to her second studio album, "From a Table Away," became her first single to chart. She will be on tour this summer with Brad Paisley and performing with various artist such as Alan Jackson, Thompson Square, and Colt Ford.
Sergio has had the honor of playing at the Historic Ryman, The Grand Ole Opry over a dozen times, The CMA Festival, USO tour in Iraq, and playing for the troops in Cuba.
