The Rowley Wheeler Band has only officially been operating for a little over a year, but some of the guys have been together for several years. They have written, recorded, and toured with some seminal Michigan bands, such as Rollinghead, Jim Jones and the Kool-Ade Kids, and Dirtfarm. They have also played with the likes of Skill Crane, Murder of Crows, Crack’r Wagon, and the ultimate party outfit, Whitey DeLuca. They are no strangers to good music. This variety of influences contributes to their unique brand of music. They’ve heard Americana, Roots Rock, Alt Country, Roadhouse Rock, Indie, and Rock n Roll. Don’t ask them, they don’t care too much. They just enjoy playing.
The Rowley Wheeler Band has just released a six song EP and are currently writing and recording for their full length release this summer. In addition to their originals, they know about seventy songs by about forty different artists, from the Stones to Buck Owens. Because of this, they are able to do either original showcases or provide three sets worth of cover material, all while retaining their own sound and style. They are booking gigs around West Michigan and bringing the party to you.
TRWB has played at The Blue Note, Billy’s Lounge, Founder’s Brewery, Old Hat Brewery, Bell’s Eccentric Café, Club Envy, The Viceroy, Juke’s Bar, Rubbles, and The Livery. They have also shared bills with Nathen Kalish and Wildfire, LeBaron, Delilah DeWylde and the Lost Boys, Dutch Henry, Spencer Mulder, Roosevelt Diggs, and Nick Curan.
