Builder of the House / Bio

Builder of the House is the recording and performing project of Portland, ME based artists Rob Cimitile and Elliot Heeschen. The group's experiments with folk and Bluegrass sounds started their journey on the EP 'I Am a Tidal Wave' (2012), and evolved into the 'Hourglass' EP, with an expanded full band sound born out of collaborations with other artists in the Portland music scene, who appear on the record.

Haunting turn of the century ballads like 'A Plot in Falmouth' feature alongside the irresistible, nostalgic, folk pop of 'There is No Hourglass, Only Sand', the video for which premiered on influential indie blog Consequence of Sound. Builder of the House has been featured on mtvU, Reverb Nation, SoundCloud, CD Baby's DIY Musician Blog, and is often recommended to fans of The Lumineers, Elliott Smith, Nick Drake, and Okkervil River.
