The Family Crest / Bio

The Family Crest is an orchestral pop collective based in San Francisco. Made up of six core members and over 250 ‘Extended Family Members’ who participate in recordings, live performances, and more, the band has formed an interactive community around a common musical platform, dissolving the barrier between artist and audience member.

Fusing rock, classical, folk, and jazz, The Family Crest self-recorded and self-released an EP, Songs from the Valley Below (2010), and an LP, The Village (2012). The group is releasing their second LP, Beneath the Brine, in Spring 2013.

This year The Family Crest toured the West Coast, performed at Red Light Management’s GRAMMY post-party as a Google Play Magnified Artist, showcased at SXSW, headlined the 75th Anniversary of the Golden Gate Bridge, and opened for The Head and The Heart at The Fillmore in San Francisco and OK Go at Stern Grove Festival. Their song North was featured on the NBC show Awake, and won the rock category of the 2012 Unsigned Only Songwriting Competition.
