A perfectionist when it comes to songwriting, Spotlyte draws all ears to attention with every song heard. Although she has not yet had a song land with a major label, Spotlyte understands that it’s a
matter of time before someone with major credentials or with major connections hears her songs, and then she will flourish. With 2 full albums under her belt, both with a significant amount of downloads and purchases, its clear that once Spotlyte breaks into the main stream market she will have a strong impact. Growing up singing was embedded in Spotlyte’s heart. Her father Robert Hunt was also a singer. He sang in the Mississippi Mass Coir, and he and Spotlyte would sing songs all the time together throughout her childhood. At age 13 Spotlyte was inspired to start writing songs by watching a TV show and seeing a woman crying because she couldn’t keep her child. Spotlyte wrote a song called “Hard Times”. She has been writing and singing ever since that time.
Years later at age 19, Spotlyte was invited to LaFace Records by A&R Tone Henderson, to let them hear some of her songs. From that experience she received advice on song structure. Spotlyte then began reading books on songwriting and song structure in hopes of polishing off her talents as a songwriter.
Now residing in Atlanta, GA, Spotlyte is continuing to stockpile her portfolio of songs. She is now writing for several local Independent labels and producers, one of the biggest being, Collipark Music’s producer “Mr. Hanky”. With all of the knowledge learned over the years, she has now begun to write and create multi-platinum material. Now Spotlyte writes POP, R&B, Gospel, Alternative, & Hip-Hop music. Her plan is to pitch to publishing companies in the near future, and so far with all the positive feed back, Spotlyte’s future is looking very promising!!!!
