Alamantra / Bio

Since 2000, Alamantra has provided fans of rock music across the globe an exciting alternative to the ordinary fare. Formed by Songwriter/guitarist Bobby Shiflett as an outlet for his extensive collection of music, their unique style of Neo-psychedelia, blends the sounds of Classic Rock styles of bands like Pink Floyd and Deep Purple with a touch of Southern Rock, blues & good ol Root/Jam. This has earned Alamantra ever-growing International appeal, making them the top Indie band for Birmingham, AL on ReverbNation’s charts for most of the last several years.

An accomplished live performing band – Alamantra offers not only their own creations but a variety of covers as well. Core members Bobby Shiflett ( Guitar, Keyboards & Vocals). Ken Shiflett (Drums) Andrew Reid (Bass & Vocals) and Stephen Casteel (guitar) bring to the stage an energy and chemistry that comes from years of playing and collaborating together. The unique talent of each musician magically melds together to form Alamantra.

For Alamantra is not just a band – it is an entity all its own. One does not just listen to their music – but experiences it. Through lyrics, rhythm and melody, Alamantra delivers insight that is left to each listener for interpretation. Not everyone will see the same picture the words and music paints, yet, through their music, people’s view of the world is transformed and expanded.

“We believe that music is about a melody and rock and roll is about a beat, that being a band is all about the love of music and not gimmicks or trying to be the latest thing. This common ground allows us to let Alamantra truly follow its own lights.” – Bobby Shiflett
