Captain Eyeball is a very influential band among the late 80s Oklahoma underground music scene and beyond. Their fuzz bass driven post punk tunes and completely original guitar stylings have been heard by many diverse audiences. Opening for bands of potent originality such as The Flaming Lips, Helios Creed (of Chrome), Firehose (ex-Minutemen) and many others, their sound is inimitable. The OK Gazette wrote of their show with Helios Creed, "Captain Eyeball rocked balls as usual-expect nothing less."..."That nights mini-show was its Maiden Voyage. It was classic."
The musicians involved have now formed their sound into a melodically palatable yet still abrasive and dissonant album release titled “110 Stipplings”. The CD was release March 4, 2011 at the Conservatory, for their show opening for ‘Jucifer’. The show was a great success and the song ‘Eels’ (included in email) has received over 100 ‘likes’ on Facebook. The band has also recently become known for their roles in the b-movie horror film "Sewer Chewer", starring Lloyd Kauffman (creator of Toxic Avenger) and the drummer of the band, Dan Hoganson. The other members make appearances as well, and their song "Invaders" is featured on a scene in the movie and on the movie soundtrack.
