Banana Recycling Club / Bio

Banana Recycling Club was founded by Trevis Cullen and Ben Berg sometime around winter 2009. They first started out playing melodies on their acoustic guitars and experimenting with recording themselves on Ben Berg's recording program. Soon enough, after running into an old friend and ex band member from high school, Edgar Chavez, who played drums, they started practicing in their friend's basement. They played a couple small, local shows without a bass player, then the fall of that same year, once again, old friend and ex-band member, Jaden Draper, moved down from Salt Lake City, and was recruited as their bass player. because of problems finding a place to practice, after they were kicked out of their friend's basement, the band didn't accomplish much for a stretch of six months. They tried numerous times to record a decent demo but failed at doing so. Finally in the Summer of 2010, they teamed up at a warehouse with the Local hard rock act, Live In Prequil. This took care of finding a place to practice. They began playing shows in Las Vegas and Salt Lake City. They hooked up with a local studio in Washington City ran and own by Aaron Hamblin. They recorded a 5 track long demo. The demo was successful and was able to book them more shows. Banana Recycling Club is known for their progressive, experimentation as well as stylish punk blended with melody. The band wanted to play heavy music but also keep an indie aspect in it as well. Their influences range from old school hardcore bands such as, Black Flag and Minor Threat to late nineties At the drive in and Murder City Devils.
