Hackneyed are four guys and a girl who addicted their lives to Death Metal in 2006. With switching from Nuclear Blast to Lifeforce Records and a new (their 3rd) album under the belts Hackneyed are ready to take the next steps to success by storm.
After the first musical try-outs, their first own tracks and appearances at small local shows with ever rotating line-ups, in 2007 with Devin joining the band, Hackneyed for the first time had a solid line-up in place. With him in the band the songwriting did make a big step forward and Hackneyed were able to start playing bigger venues.
At the beginning of 2008 Hackneyed opened at Winter Freeze festival in Abtsgmünd and got the attention of Achim Ostertag, who arranged the first professional recording session for the band’s debut „Death Prevails“ which caught the attention of Nuclear Blast, who released the album in the middle of 2008. Hackneyed wasn’t only the youngest band Nuclear Blast ever signed, with an average age of 16 years they were also one of the youngest Death Metal bands worldwide. The signing to Nuclear Blast brought the band festival appearances at Summer Breeze, Death Feast and Rock Harz plus numerous shows all over Europe and tours with their idols of Morbid Angel, Kataklysm, Keep Of Kalessin and Aborted.
In 2009 Felix Papp got replaced by Juan Sierra and short after they recorded their second album for Nuclear Blast „Burn After Reaping“, which again was followed by festival appearance at some of the biggest European metal festivals such as Summer Nights, With Full Force, Metal Camp, Summer Breeze and a European tour with Nile, Krisiun, Grave and Ulcerate.
In 2010 bass player Alex Büttner left the band and got replaced by Tini Wuttke who had to give full power from day one with numerous live shows and a well received debut at Wacken Open Air. 2010 for the band ended with their first ever headlining tour.
2011 now started for Hackneyed with jam sessions and pre-recordings for their new album.
