Born with country music in his blood and a guitar in his hand, Shane Millwood was instilled with the small town values of loving his family, friends, and country. After graduating high school, Shane strapped his guitar across his back and left home for the Marine Corps at the age of 18. In an unfamiliar place and missing Georgia, Shane was known to take out his guitar and play while in the barracks or at sea to remind himself and his fellow Marines of home. During his four years in the Corps, his passion for writing, singing, and playing continued to develop into his own style of music, influenced by George Jones, Merle Haggard, George Strait, and most importantly his honky tonkin’ father, Tommy Millwood.
On any given day you can now find Shane at home picking, singing, and enjoying life with his wife Jamie and his three boys, Logan, Jackson, and Gibson, who are learning to play and sing from their father and loving every minute of it. Heartfelt, relatable lyrics and instrumentals with a little edge define Shane’s likable style, and can be heard in some of his most popular songs like “Will I Be Ready”, “Lets Hold Hands”, and “Sometimes I Wanna Hate Ya”.
In 2011, Shane was nominated and made the finals for Georgia-Country Male Artist of the year and the Shane Millwood band was named Luminary Band of the Year by Country Atlanta. "Let's Hold Hands" won Luminary Song of the Month honors at Country Atlanta, while the engaging song "Will I Be Ready" landed Shane a spot in the Southeast Region Finals of the International Songwriting Competition for 2011.
Shane released his first full lenth album on March 13th, 2012 and it is available everywhere. itunes, cdbaby, amazon, etc...
