Frankie Colt is a singer/songwriter based out of Southwest Florida. The last of seven children, Frankie was the only sibling who put sports aside to pursue music. She started teaching herself guitar at the age of twelve and fell in love with her mom's 1960s Yamaha guitar. Practicing led to writing, writing led to performing, and Frankie has not looked back since.
In her formative years, Frankie was mostly influenced by pop, punk, and alternative music. She was partial to the sounds and sways of the electric guitar. She was introduced to folk and bluegrass music in high school. Bluegrass made her a stronger rhythm guitar player. Over the years, she picked up the mandolin, keyboard, banjo and various percussion instruments. The blending of alternative, folk, bluegrass and pop punk laid the foundation for the sound she creates today.
For the last few years, she has been performing her original music, hosting several open mics and has been and is involved with several different projects including The Sweet Tease, Lions and Wolves and Casey Weston. Today, Frankie Colt is playing regularly all over Southwest Florida and is currently working on her debut album, “Howl."
