Urban music lovers all over the world are enumerating artist/producer & media activist, Tommy JiZoo Rice to the list of extraordinary musical phenomenon. At only 21 years of age, JiZoo is claimed to be one of the most stupendous up-and-coming music/media vessels. Recognized and represented by RecapLife Media Group, a countless number of his original projects await the world of Hip Hop Culture. JiZoo is often compared to inspiring acts such as Andre 3000, will.i.am, Timbaland, Pharrell Williams and Kanye West. However, Tommy is an artist who possesses a unique sound, story, and glory of his own
Hailing from smack dab in the middle of America, St. Louis, Missouri, Tommy JiZoo Rice offers a culturally diverse "melting pot" sound, giving him no specific or constant genre. Growing up in a high poverty and high violence area, music has always been a get-away from the harsh reality of Tommy's environment. At the age of 7, he began writing his own songs and recording them on a low-tech children’s tape recorder. Not long after, JiZoo was introduced to musical instruments by his uncle's cultural arts non-profit organization. These were the humble beginnings of the self-sufficient producer, videographer and musician, as he soon found himself teaching piano, drums and video editing skills to adults twice his age.
Beginning to record parody songs digitally, Tommy soon became serious about his talents and began compiling his music into albums. By 18, JiZoo had created 9 albums and 6 mix-tapes. Achieving 50,000 views on YouTube, Tommy was discovered by A&R/Executive Producer and Photographer Darron "Shugg" Humphrey. Partnering together under RecapLife Media Group LLC, Rice and Humphrey compiled an impeccable line of artists and producers, labeling the brand as Gohden Child Productions. Tommy Jizoo Rice is now the front man in action, releasing the album titled Your Favorite Bowl of Cereal in 2011 and a documentary/soundtrack Southside Glory in 2012 (both available on iTunes).
In preparation for the 2013 release of The Crunchtape, Gohden Child Productions/ RecapLife Media Group are moving the Tommy JiZoo Rice brand to the forefront of the musical scene. With hard work and dedication, Tommy's fan-base and booking schedule are growing as rapidly as his buzz. Though only time will tell when this young man will become a globally renowned artist, JiZoo’s rise to fame is a certainty.
