GreenhornBluehorn / Bio

The Antal brothers of Seattle's GreenhornBluehorn got their chops in the punk and rock scene of Ithaca, New York. Still not ones to tone it down, these indie-folkers produce a big sound and lots of broken guitar strings. Their anthemic tunes bring on the boot stompin' with haunting hooks on acoustic and keys, woven with the swaying layered syncopations of the Antal brothers' harmonies.

In cahoots with former Bird Language bassist and Planet frontman, James Fairchild, GreenhornBluehorn put out a self-titled EP in March of 2013. Seattle Weekly deemed the album "heavy on pretty acoustic tunes in the tradition of Jeff Tweedy. Think lush harmonies, warm melodies, and ’60s-esque folk sure to bring out your campfire-singing romantic side."

The EP can be found throughout the interwebs (e.g. soundcloud.com/greenhornbluehorn) and handcrafted hardcopies are available at their shows. Their track "Bag of Bones" (featuring the gale-force vocals of Tina Beers) is also featured on the Ball of Wax #32 (Summer 2013) compilation of Seattle indie music, which is available here: http://ballofwax.bandcamp.com/album/ball-of-wax-volume-32
