Singer-guitarist Mélisande gathered a nice group of experienced musicians to prepare a brand new project of traditional songs with an elecrotrad flavour. Along with Robin Boulianne (MAZ, Yves Lambert), Mark Busic (award-wining producer and sound engineer) and Alexandre de Grosbois-Garand (award-winning artist with Genticorum, Perdu l’Nord), Mélisande offers an artistic proposal that is resolutely modern yet respectful of the French Canadian musical tradition. Her rich folk-pop-progressive musical background and her mesmerizing voice give a fresh take on these traditional songs that she delivers with strong personality.
The CD release will take place in Montreal in May 2014 and will be followed by a Quebec/Canada tour. The buzz around the release of the song Je fais la difficile and the band’s performance as an opening act for trad legend Yves Lambert last May is a good indicator that Mélisande hits the bull’s eye with her electrotrad project. Her experience as a touring singer-songwriter (in duo with Alexandre) includes festivals and gigs in Québec, Ontario, British Columbia, New England, the US West Coast, Mexico and Australia. Everything is now in place for her career to reach the next level and for her music to reach the ears and souls of raving crowds.
